Job Purpose Summary:
The ASA Plant Manager (PM) directs the work efforts of the operations and maintenance teams, reporting directly to the Director of Operations. Key competency is leadership to create sustained, long-term success.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Lead and direct all non-exempt personnel and supervisors in the operations department at ASA Facility
Manage ASA grain operation, inducing cleaning, packing, shipping, and receiving activities
Collaborate on annual budget development and responsible for executing budget goals
Responsible for tracking and directing work on Cap-Ex Projects
Collaborates with Director or Operations and COO to generate and prioritize Capex projects
Collaborate with other Plant Managers, CI teams, Engineering and other global services for plant alignment
Ensures team plans and executes production schedule to achieve sales orders and contracts
Ensures team utilizes assets effectively and appropriately
Responsible for plant compliance to company policies and programs, including HR, safety, and food safety
Responsible for oversight and execution of personnel performance management
Oversight of personnel scheduling. Creates systems that are sustainable for team members
Responsible for setting and communicating standards for hiring across operations
Responsible for maintaining personnel levels that are robust, so position openings do not impact the business
Responsible for training system (PQS) effectiveness
Oversight of records retention practices
Collaborates with other departments (sales, accounting, IT, etc.) to ensure processes are efficient and effective
Ensure alignment with maintenance effectiveness and priorities with the Director of Operations
Complete Management of Change forms
Maintain a positive and professional atmosphere for all employees and visitors
Ensure a clean and safe work environment is maintained
Participate in all major audits (GSFI, Organic, major customer), ensuring all areas are audit-ready at all times
Delivery of objectives and disciplined leadership that is fair and balanced at all times
Conduct regularly scheduled performance reviews
Other duties as directed or required
Qualifications:
5-10 years of management experience
Bachelors degree in agribusiness or other related field
Agricultural or food production experience preferred
Familiar with grain elevators and material conveyance
Strong leadership, communications and process management skills
Lean six sigma certifications
Intermediate to advanced computer skills
Experience with CMMS maintenance tracking systems
Position Requirements:
Have the ability to climb stairs and ladders, and work in all weather conditions
Able to utilize specialized software (NAV/Scada/others) related to departmental plant operations
Must be able to communicate and lead effectively, including providing, receiving and following directions
Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
Must be willing and able to work overtime hours during the week, weekends and/or holidays as needed
