Job Purpose Summary:
The AGC Quality Manager assists in documenting and executing the Grain Company’s Quality Management Systems for two cleaning plant locations in collaboration with the Corporate Quality and Food Safety Director, the AGC Quality & Food Safety Coordinator and each site’s Plant Management for their effective execution in production operations. The Quality Manager communicates directly with customers to address documentation needs and product inquiries and concerns.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• Manages direct reports across two sites – responsible for hiring, timecard approval, documented performance reviews, discipline and documentation according to Company Policy and House rules.
• Develop new Quality program documentation and regularly audit existing Quality program documentation for continuous improvement; perform validation activities in support of new and existing programs, as needed.
• Lead customer audits and participate in regulatory audits in collaboration with QFS Director and/or Coordinator.
• Assists in developing and delivering educational materials for team member training in relation to Quality
programs and corrective actions.
• Participate in annual SQF Program validations and annual internal Q&FS management systems audit.
• Oversee AGC Quality programs, specifically:
o Annual Monitoring of Product Quality (Heavy Metals, Pesticides, Nutritional, Mycotoxins, Micros, etc.);
o Annual testing proficiency (LPP) amongst staff, In-house & via 3rd party Neogen®;
o Allergen Program: product matrix documentation, execution by Quality techs for verification and validation testing;
o GMP compliance;
o Internal Inspections and associated corrective actions;
o Risk Assessments, as needed;
o Production record review and CCP/PC verifications;
o Non-GMO program—employee training, composite testing, lot tracking, live portal updates;
o National Organic Program – employee training, ID Preservation, OSP updated and Non-compliance responses
o Kosher program-employee training, ID Preservation, Schedule A and B updates in portal, facilitate Rabbi visits.
• Manage Grain Incidents & Loss (IL) program: track, manage, and document investigations for customer
complaints and identified issues; lead investigations for all quality deviations, document Root Cause Analysis and populate Corrective Action Reports (CAR), as needed; escalate Food Safety ILs to Plant Management and QFS Director.
• Provides Quality focused guidance when collaborating with other departments on various projects, including developing SOPs in collaboration with operations, lab, production planning, customer service, or other departments.
• Manages customer-facing Quality Documentation such as Product Data Sheets and COAs
o Audits for accuracy and updates when applicable
• Responsible for Specification Management across different commodities and products with the goal of
streamlining specifications for operations while satisfying customer concerns and requirements.
o Creates and updates inventory items in ERP system
• Supports R&D efforts by developing and managing testing regimes for new or changed product quality;
successfully accumulates meaningful data, analyzes, and reports results to management
• Presents technical knowledge regarding Quality items to customers to support Operations and Sales teams when needed;
• Promptly informs management of known or anticipated problems;
• Exercises tact and discretion in interpersonal contacts; respects confidentiality of privileged information
particularly with developing products and organizational changes.

• Other duties and special projects, as assigned.
The Quality & Food Safety Director and/or Quality & Food Safety Coordinator shall provide coverage in the absence of the Quality Manager.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Bachelors of Science, Food Science, Chemistry or related field preferred
• 5 years of experience working in the food industry in quality and food safety program documentation & execution
• Prior experience with Organic and Kosher product management preferred
• Understanding of food regulations and Global Food Safety requirements
• Required Certifications: HACCP and PCQI; SQF Practitioner, preferred
• Excellent communication skills required
• Proficiency with ERP systems, word processing, spreadsheets and report writing
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work with minimal supervision
• Ability to analyze data and make determinations
• Ability to provide presentations and training
Position Requirements:
• Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
• Must be proficient in reading, speaking and writing in English for the purpose of record keeping, safety and quality training processes.
• Available to work overtime including some weekends
• Willing to work in any of our operating locations (Arbuckle and Woodland)
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Salary : $100,000 - $125,000
