Job Purpose Summary:
Adams Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant with current agriculture industry-related work experience. Reporting to the Controller, this individual is responsible for the daily accounting activities of the company. This hands-on role will also provide on-going financial and analytical support to all functional areas of the business.

Essential Job Functions:
- General Ledger:
- Manage Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Manage General Ledger account
- Manage booking of Capital Expenditures and associated journal entries.
- Intercompany entries and reconciliation
- Prepare and review Financial Statements, including Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and Cash Flow Statements ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles (GAAP).
- Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
- Assist with preparation for various types of audits.
- Track key performance indicators.
- Cross train with other roles in the department for coverage as needed.
- Play an active role in accounting process improvements and automation.
- Prepare/assist with Federal, State, Local regulatory reporting.
- Assist with Treasury activities.
- Ad hoc reporting/other tasks as needed
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3 years relevant experience in cost accounting.
- Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize in a dynamic environment.
- Self-starter with ability to complete activities with minimal direction.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to follow through on projects with minimal supervision.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Professional attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Highly skilled with accounting software & advanced Excel skills
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA Certification
- Mark-to-Market experience
- 5 years relevant experience in cost accounting
- Food/Ag and/or manufacturing experience
- Familiarity with Power BI
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position is predominately performed from a seated position.
- Ability to stand and walk as required by job duties.
- Ability to manipulate a computer keyboard.
- Ability to use office machinery such as a copy machine, printer and computer.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on occasionally.
- Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
Salary : $85,000 - $95,000
