Description
The PreOp/PACU RN is responsible for coordinating and managing patient care for surgical patients throughout the preoperative and postoperative phases. They will administer diligent care to surgical patients via assessment, monitoring, and intervention including care for the post-operative patients recovering from anesthesia (general, regional, and local). They will provide support, education, direct care to patients, and act as a liaison between the surgical team and the patient families/support systems. Using comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to patient care, the PreOp/PACU nurse works closely with the entire surgical team. The Ambulatory Care RN works as part of a healthcare team to administer various forms of IV therapy to patients. Their duties include assessing patients to develop care plans, inserting various types of intravenous lines and monitoring the IV treatments to watch for complications. They also perform other outpatient treatments such as dressing changes, PICC line flushes and care, and foley catheter changes. Both of the above functions are performed in our Pre/Post/Ambulatory Department.
Eligible for medical coverage on your first day of employment, all other benefits will be effective the 1st of the month following hire date!
This position is eligible for a $20,000 sign-on bonus
Requirements
30 hours per week - First Shift
6:30 am - 5:00 pm
Valid RN license in the State of Indiana
Experience working pre/post operatively with varied surgical patient populations
Emergency nursing, critical care, medical/surgical, or ambulatory surgery center experience
Moderate sedation and cardiac monitoring experience
