Position Overview:
As a Meat Cutter you will be responsible for preparing and cutting meat products in a retail setting of the grocery store. You are responsible for knowing how to process different cuts of meats with precision and ensuring quality and freshness of all meat products.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive and inspect meat deliveries to ensure quality and compliance with safety standards
- Cut, trim and portion various cuts of meats, such as steaks, roasts, chops etc according to the customers request/preference and company standards
- Grind, season and prepare ground meat products as needed
- Ensuring proper handling, storage and rotation of meats to minimize waste and maintain optimal quality
- Monitor meat inventory levels and assist in placing orders to maintain sufficient stock
- Operate and maintain meat processing equipment such as meat grinders, ban saws, slicers and other cutting tools
- Ensuring that all equipment is clean, well maintained and in good working order
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines including but not limited to proper storage, handling and cleaning of equipment
- Follow health and safety regulations to prevent cross contamination and ensure a hygienic work environment
- Providing excellent customer service in timely manner with professionalism to ensure continued customer satisfaction
- Providing recommendations regarding meat selection, cooking recommendations as well as fulfilling special requests
- Adhere to all company safety standards
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
- Ability to work in varying temperature-controlled environments.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, as needed including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Preferred: One (1) year butchery experience or relevant experience
- ServeSafe certification or comparable
- Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; walking on a variety of flooring such as concrete, tile, carpet etc
