Our client is a growth-oriented consultancy that helps clients make informed decisions and evaluate results utilizing demographics, economic and financial data, geographic information systems (GIS), and evidence-based methods. We apply our expertise across multiple disciplines, with a particular focus on regional economics; land use economics; community and economic development; research and evaluation; data analysis; business intelligence; and information design.

Position Description and Objectives:
In this role, the ideal candidate will produce high-quality communications and marketing content that engages our clients and builds recognition of our brand. This includes providing direct support for proposal and business development processes. The Marketing and Communications Manager works closely with firm leadership to support the firm's marketing strategy and will meet regularly with team leaders to review business development needs and opportunities. The ideal candidate is proactive in identifying client opportunities and is responsive to team leaders’ efforts to solicit new business and finding marketing solutions to assist in business development. Project work includes writing contributions, stakeholder interviews and meetings support.

Business Development
  • Leads development and maintenance of all business development materials.
  • Help track and pursue business development opportunities
  • Work with project teams to coordinate proposal responsibilities and timelines in response to RFPs
  • Write new marketing content and tailor existing text to craft engaging proposals
  • Coordinate the creation of proposals using InDesign and other tools

Marketing & Communications
  • Work directly with practice area leads to carry out marketing initiatives, create branded collateral, and manage firm marketing campaigns
  • Manage the firm's website and social media presence
  • Create informative content, press releases, and articles to share our company's brand and services
  • Create cut sheets on client practice areas and specific projects
  • Serve as a resource for staff looking for branding and messaging support on project deliverables

Project Work & Report Writing
  • Assist with stakeholder engagement related to project work, including meeting support and individual interviews
  • Dissect notes and survey feedback to construct report content
  • Copyedit reports and write executive summaries

Experience and Knowledge:
This position requires a highly professional work ethic, accountability, and comportment as well as a willingness to learn and assist in all aspects of a small and growing firm. Must have positive energy and a flexible work style to meet urgent deadlines, be task-oriented and creative, capable of independent and resourceful problem-solving, and have the ability to learn quickly and work well in a team environment while contributing to a learning culture.

Qualifications:
  • Consulting experience
  • Intellectual curiosity and insights in data-driven consulting in urban planning, economic development and data dashboards.
  • Strong written communication and interpersonal skills; attention to detail a must
  • Expert in Microsoft Word and Office 365, Teams, Outlook and more; proficient in Adobe InDesign, overall tech savvy
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders through broad knowledge of marketing and promotional principles and insights
  • Demonstrated excellence in web and email strategy and implementation, social media experience a plus
  • Ability to manage challenging situations and recommend effective solutions to problems
  • Able to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive
