Our client is a public company seeking to hire a Product Manager with experience in product management / development, vendor development / management, asset / inventory management and pricing strategies.
The individual must be adept at performing various data intensive analysis using the ERP system and Cyberquery to determine strategic action based on multiple data points and business factors. This position requires an individual that works well independently and must also liaise with both the leadership and sales teams of the business and be able to clearly articulate and promote the product lines assigned. There will be occasional travel with the sales team to meet with customers regarding the products and applications. The individual must be a self-starter and be able to juggle multiple commitments simultaneously. The position is responsible for the profitability of defined product lines by developing and managing product and market strategies to optimize profitability for the business. The candidate should possess an entrepreneurial mindset and take ownership of the products in their portfolio. This position is highly visible in the company and is currently open due to internal promotions.
Responsibilities :
- Analyze, build and manage assigned categories to maintain and grow sales
- Analyze, monitor and take action to improve product costs and maintain the lowest total cost
- Analyze pricing data from industry standards, previous sales trends and competitors
- Manage market pricing and total net / net pricing structures by channel and by customer
- Assure Product Information Management (PIM) of assigned products is current and accessible to users
- Proactively work with other Operations, Sales and Customer Service team to maintain required service commitments to customer base
- Develop and manage vendor relationships in defined product / program categories
- Learn current company systems and process, and identify improvement opportunities
- Perform ad hoc analysis on an as needed basis
