What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cattle Movement (Non-Horseback) position at Adams Land & Cattle, LLC?
Our Cattle Movement team has an opportunity with the responsibilities of movement, unloading, and flow of cattle to and from our processing/sorting facility. We are looking for a self-motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
This person will be responsible for:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinating cattle movements within the feedyard and communicating with other departments, as needed.
- Assisting with the unloading and movement of incoming cattle.
- Assisting with the flow of cattle to and from the processing/sorting facility.
- Checking water tanks to ensure they are functional.
- Gathering loose cattle and taking them to their appropriate pens.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Being accountable for cattle health in assigned zones
- Monitoring, sorting and verifying cattle in special pens
- Utilizing animal health reports and interpreting the data to support decisions.
Ideal candidate would possess the following qualifications:
- Previous cattle handling and BQA knowledge and experience.
- Knowledge of sick or injured cattle, including basic animal health diagnosis.
- Individual must be team-oriented and self-motivated.
This position requires:
- Individual must be able to work holidays, extended hours, and weekends.
- Individual must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Exerting 25-50 pounds of force rarely; 10-20 pounds frequently. Standing, sitting, walking, carrying, lifting/lowering, pushing/pulling, bending, twisting, climbing, crawling, stairs, reaching/handling/grasping occasionally; kneeling/crouching rarely.
Compensation Details:
- Starting Wage: $17.00 to $22.00 per hour
- $2,000 Hiring Bonus
