We've been engaged by a top national law firm to identify a looking for a Commercial Litigation Paralegal who supports attorneys in handling disputes related to business and commercial matters. Their work often involves complex cases like contract breaches, business torts, partnership disputes, intellectual property issues, and more.
Case Preparation & Management:
Draft pleadings, motions, subpoenas, and discovery documents
Organize and manage case files, exhibits, and trial notebooks
Conduct legal and factual research
Discovery Process:
Handle e-discovery and document review
Prepare and respond to interrogatories, requests for production, and admissions
Trial Support:
Assist with deposition and trial preparation
Coordinate with expert witnesses
Attend hearings or trials as support to the attorney
Client Interaction:
Communicate with clients, witnesses, and other parties
Help prepare clients for depositions or trial
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Familiarity with litigation management software (like Relativity, Concordance, or CaseMap)
Excellent writing and communication skills
Solid understanding of court procedures and rules (local, state, federal)
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and high-pressure environments
Paralegal certificate or degree in legal studies is often required
Bachelor's degree may be preferred, especially in competitive firms
Experience in litigation, particularly commercial or business law, is a big plus
