Overview :
A busy and well-established law firm is seeking an Education Paralegal to join its dynamic team. This role supports the Education Department, working closely with Special Education and Truancy attorneys. This position is ideal for an experienced paralegal eager to contribute to a meaningful area of law while supporting the local community.
Key Responsibilities :
- Maintain confidential client files, records, and calendars for Special Education and Truancy cases
- Draft petitions, motions, affidavits, and other legal documents for state, district, or federal court filings
- Organize and review evidence, exhibits, and court filings for hearings, mediations, and resolutions
- Conduct legal research and summarize key judicial opinions, statutes, and regulations
- Assist with planning and presenting legal information to school district administrators during annual educational law summits
- Provide guidance to school and district administrative staff on Special Education and Truancy procedures
- Review subpoenas for student records and advise school personnel on proper compliance
- Work independently on routine matters and assist attorneys in resolving legal issues
- Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned
Qualifications :
Salary : $50-$60k / yr.
