Job Description : Boutique Trust, Estate, and Probate litigation firm seeks an experienced Trust Administration Paralegal to join their team in Westlake Village. The ideal candidate possesses 3-5 years specifically within Trust, Estate, and Probate, has an ABA-approved paralegal certificate and valid CA driver's license, and has strong mastery of client communication and administration of trusts / estates.
Trust Administration Paralegal Job Duties :
- Analyze trust provisions and prepare attorney summaries.
- Send welcome emails and letters of instruction to trustees.
- Prepare TA Merge File, including Authorization to Release Information, Certification of Trust, Healthcare Services, Franchise Tax Board, and Credit Bureau notices, as well as instruction letters for decedent's Last Will.
- Draft real property transfer documents, such as Affidavit - Death of Trustee, Grant Deeds, Assessor forms, Proposition 19 calculations, and Small Estates Affidavits.
- Communicate extensively with trustees, professionals, and agencies.
- Run Estate Valuation Pricing, obtain title reports, and prepare date-of-death value inventories, appraisements, allocation of assets, and sub-trust documents (e.g., Acceptance of Trustee, SS-4 Forms, and Certifications of Trust).
- Draft trust distributions, waivers, receipts, tax forms (Form 706 and 709), and accountings.
- Assemble TA binders, draft closing letters, and assist with trust petitions (draft / edit petitions, court documents, probate notes, supplements, court orders, and certified filings).
- Review monthly prebills in Abacus to ensure clarity and accuracy for billable and non-billable time.
- Scan, upload, and manage documents in Lawcus.
- Conduct legal research.
