Job Purpose
Drive truck on route to collect and dump refuse or recyclable materials.
Tasks
Supports company operations by focusing on customer service and safety. Reports directly to the Field Supervisor.
Acts as the boots on the ground image of the company. Remembers the customer is always watching. We are a customer service company first, then a garbage collection company.
Works closely with other drivers and the Field Supervisor to provide support when needed on other routes in order to successfully meet customer expectations and timely route completion.
Inspects the truck prior to beginning the daily routes to ensure safe operating conditions. Signs off on the daily check and provides to the Mechanic.
Refuels the truck before the route begins and as needed throughout the day.
Timely reports any truck issues to the Mechanic and route / customer issues to the Field Supervisor and Customer Service Supervisor as appropriate. Immediately reports accidents (company property, customer property or bodily injury) to the Director of Operations.
Follows all safety protocol while completing route.
Drives trucks following all rules of the road and route safety along established routes (in order as per route sheet) and to disposal sites.
Operates compressing equipment safely and per protocol. Safely disposes of garbage at designated transfer stations.
Updates customer account data after each stop on the provided tablet.
When a jumper is not available, operates truck in addition to tipping the carts. Returns carts to the place where left by the customer.
Picks up all the trash, every time! If something does not meet specs, reports it on the customer account data.
Keeps informed of road and weather conditions; works with Field Supervisor to determine how routes will be affected. Maintains flexibility.
Other duties as reasonably expected in the waste industry as assigned by manager.
Requirements
Clean Driving Record- No major violations within 5 years
Must be able to pass Drug Screen and Background Check

Ability to be exposed to inclement conditions such as high temperatures and long hours
Open to technology / learning / process improvement.
Proficient with tablets and the ability to learn route software.
