Department Information

The Accounting Office of Adams State University exists to administer the accounting functions of the University in accordance with State, federal and institutional rules, regulations, and procedures.

Description of Job

This position exists to manage travel requests and accounts payable as well as also manages the university’s travel program including the issuance of travel credit cards, manages travel credit card changes in the US Bank system, provides training to campus when needed and completes the annual, state credit card violation audit.

  • Review invoice prior to payment to ensure proper approvals and accuracy. 
  • Build suppliers/vendors in Workday and verify that all required information is on file in order to meet IRS
    1099 filing regulations.
  • Provide training to the campus on the correct use of travel cards, including accounting and travel procedures, to ensure compliance with policies.
  • Establishes and revise office procedures for verifying proper completion of agency travel and travel reimbursement requests prior to payment.
  • Approves the issuance of travel activities on the one card.
  • Tracks and audits all travel credit card activity for allocation and completes annual, state credit card violations audit.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  
 

Experience Only:

Three (3) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position


OR

Education and Experience:
A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to three (3) years

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: The preferred candidate will have experience with as many of the following as possible:

  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Outstanding customer service.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to make pertinent decisions with autonomy
