Adams Street’s Summer Internship Program is a 10-week internship that provides an engaging and highly educational experience to undergraduates seeking to build a career in private markets. Our Summer Analysts gain a broad range of investment exposure by providing research, analytical and deal process support to our teams. The program is designed for rising seniors who are pursuing their bachelor’s degree, ideally in business, finance, economics, math, or computer science looking to gain a foundational understanding of the private markets industry. The internship program offers a unique set of financial training, professional development, and mentorship opportunities throughout the Summer.

The Investment Strategy and Risk Management Team is responsible for the oversight of and input into the Firm’s top-down portfolio construction and ensuring client portfolios appropriately capture the firm’s bottom-up investment recommendations. The Summer Intern will focus on assisting the ISRM team across multiple functions, including Portfolio Allocation, Operational Due Diligence (ODD), Risk Management, and ESG.

Role Responsibilities
- Work with ISRM and investment teams to optimize performance of Adams Street’s portfolios through disciplined fund management and deal allocation across a variety of rapidly growing strategies and structures
- Assisting with performing operational due diligence on alternative investment funds and managers for new prospective managers and as part of the ongoing monitoring process for existing relationships
- Assist in data and statistical analysis of portfolio company and fund level information to derive insights for portfolio management.
- Supporting the documentation process, data collection and researching best practices related to external investment manager operational risk oversight
- Conducting relevant competitive analysis and market research on the private markets industry to support the Firm’s ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) sustainability and responsible investing practices
- Participating in ad hoc projects, which may reflect the needs of the broader global investment platform
