Job Purpose Summary
The Tank Farm Operator is a member of the Operations Team reporting directly to the Superintendent of Operations and Operations Supervisors/Shift Leaders. The Tank Farm Operator is accountable and responsible for the movement of oils between tanks, inbound and outbound loads and oil blends to meet established quality and customer specifications.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Transfers crude and refined/bleached/deodorized oils between tanks
Unloads and loads oils from/to tanker trucks, railcars and flexi containers
Understands the importance of valve settings to prevent the cross-contamination of oils during transfers
Has full understanding of piping and valves that allow the travel of oils in the system
Monitors and operates oil movements using the SCADA system and manual valves
Properly pulls samples from tanks, railcars, tanker trucks and flexi containers to allow QC testing for quality
Familiarize and follow tank farm SOPs to ensure proper procedures
Complete formula blends using specific, approved SOP generated by QA
Blend oils to proper Oleic values using directions provided
Complete movements of ISO containers and containers using yard hostler truck
Ensure a clean and safe work environment adhering to food safety guidelines
Learn and maintain proper use of personal protection equipment (P.P.E.)
Report all accidents, incidents and near misses to the Superintendent of Operations and the Plant Manager
Ensure all tasks are completed safely as assigned to the shift
Participate in all audits, ensuring all areas are audit-ready at all times
Follow all safety rules and requirements, attending safety meetings, and tailgates
Other duties as directed or required.
Qualifications:
Must be, or become forklift operator certified
Must be, or become yard hostler certified
3-5 years of processing equipment operations experience
Intermediate level in general computer applications use
Must be able to read/write English
Position Requirements:
Have the ability to climb stairs and ladders
Able to work in all weather conditions
Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
Must be willing and able to work overtime hours during the week, weekends and/or holidays as directed by management
Must be able to clearly communicate to co-workers and management
