Your Role
As a CAD Designer, you'll work within a structured design process to develop 2D drawings and 3D models for key automotive components. Your work will directly support vehicle development, ensuring manufacturability and compliance with engineering standards.
What You'll Do
- Create updatable parametric CATIA V5 2D drawings & 3D models using corporate design process.
- Develop B-side surfaces for plastic parts, incorporating manufacturing tool requirements.
- Design sheet metal surfaces that meet industry and manufacturing standards.
- Perform blend filleting and achieve Level E certification for high-quality finishes.
- Validate and refine engineering data for accuracy, integrity, and compliance with corporate standards.
- Accurately complete part and drawing requirement check sheets.
- Calculate blank shapes and material yield for body shell components.
- Maintain detailed progress tracking sheets to document project milestones.
- Prepare and communicate engineering reports, tracking open issues and collaborating with designers and engineers.
What You Bring
- 3 years of experience in Automotive Design, specializing in Body Shell, Interior Trim, Seats, Functional Parts, or Electrical/Wire Harness.
- 3 years of experience in Parametric CAD Modeling.
- 3,000 hours of hands-on CATIA V5 experience.
- Proficiency in Part Design, Generative Shape Design, Assembly Design, and Drafting workbenches.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to check and repair data for accuracy.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English and collaborate with engineers and designers.
