THIS IS AN ON-SITE ROLE BASED OUT OF OUR PHILADELPHIA, PA LOCATION.
The Facility Technician must have hands on experience performing preventative/corrective maintenance and calibrations in a complex GMP commercial environment. Proper calibration and maintenance of utilities, process equipment and instruments is critical to data accuracy required in GMP pharmaceutical operations. Some work will be performed in cleanrooms; must be familiar with a broad range of processes including troubleshooting, corrective maintenance and calibration. This is a hands on position that requires use of a wide range of calibration standards, including temperature, relative humidity, CO2, speed time, pressure and weight. The successful candidate will have a strong GMP mindset consistent with commercial GMP requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide calibration support, including routine and unscheduled calibrations. Some calibrations will be performed in a clean room and require full gowning.
- Adjust and align equipment and instruments to maintain functionality and accuracy utilizing SOPs, calibration work instructions, equipment manuals and manufacturer procedures.
- Analyze raw test data accurately to reach sound conclusions. Critically analyze problems and identify innovative and compliant solutions.
- Coordinate third party calibrations and preventive maintenance including those performed on complex cell therapy equipment in a clean room environment, including Xuri Bioreactors, GRex Bioreactors and Sepax.
- Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on utility, manufacturing, laboratory equipment such as freezers, refrigerators, incubators, etc.
- After hours emergency response on a rotational basis
- Demonstrated 3-5 years hand-on calibration/maintenance experience on a broad range of equipment in a GMP cleanroom manufacturing environment
- A work-ethic centered on precision and accuracy is a must
- Solid analytical and critical thinking skills with experience in effectively performing root cause analysis and interpreting metrics as a measure of calibration performance
- Excellent partnering skills-ability to collaborate with technical and non technical staff across the organization
- Good understanding of complex utility, manufacturing and laboratory equipment
- Must be available to respond to after-hours equipment emergencies on a scheduled rotational basis
