Position Details:
- Stationed in Cleveland and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Community-Based Programs.
- Part-time, average 10 hours per week, which includes evening and weekends for team practices, competitions, and functions. Tournament weekends may require additional hours.
- Frequent local and out of state travel is required.
- Creation and implementation of practice plans for both competitive and recreational programs.
- Participation in fundraising events, demonstrations, and exhibitions in a variety of settings.
- In conjunction with the Director of Community-Based Programs, communicating directly with coaches, volunteers, athletes and/or parents of minor athletes.
- Reporting of program/athlete needs, athlete attendance, and session notes to Adaptive Sports Ohio staff.
- Oversee and enforce Adaptive Sports Ohio’s policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 years of football coaching experience. Certified USA Football or OHSAA coach.
- 4 years of high school football playing experience.
- 1 – 3 years of professional experience.
- Strong professional, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Clean background check.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficient in Google Drive, Docs, and Spreadsheets.
- Ability to work autonomously or in a team setting as required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Outlook and Excel.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Ability to drive, as needed, a 15 passenger van or a 13 passenger mini-bus (no CDL required) and also be able to haul a 6x12 and 6x14 trailer.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Sports Management, Coaching, or related field.
- 5 or more years of football coaching experience.
- Background in adaptive sports, completion of Certified Disability Sport Specialist (CDSS) or Certified Adaptive Recreation and Sports Specialist (CARSS) training.
- Current or prior experience working with individuals with physical disabilities.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Strong initiative and creative problem solver.
- Public speaking experience.
