About the Role
AVS Technology is seeking a knowledgeable and innovative Functional Area Expert I to provide expert-level support in specialized business, functional, and technical disciplines. This role involves conducting research, proposing data-driven solutions, supporting strategic initiatives, and guiding process improvements. The ideal candidate will combine domain expertise with strong analytical and communication skills to support mission-critical operations supporting The Department of Veterans affairs
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis across specialized business, technical, and functional areas
- Propose innovative, practical solutions to domain-specific challenges
- Offer expert recommendations for improving business processes and operational efficiency
- Collaborate with teams to define and implement best practices within the functional area
- Ensure alignment with industry standards, compliance guidelines, and regulatory frameworks
- Provide expert analysis to support strategic decision-making and organizational planning
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related scientific or technical discipline

- Substitution:
- Eight (8) additional years of relevant experience may replace the educational requirement
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a functional or technical discipline
- Proven ability to conduct research and translate findings into actionable insights
- Experience developing and implementing innovative solutions within a functional domain
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
