  • Develop and utilize engineering analysis techniques, models, and simulations to enhance the performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of HTS-based power cables and related subsystems.
  • Oversee lab activities within the Superconducting Systems Team, ensuring high standards in testing and experimentation.
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering a high-performance team culture and work processes.
  • Evaluate HTS material from vendors and establish methods for material characterization and quality acceptance.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate HTS cable designs with broader engineering efforts, including thermal and high-voltage systems.
  • Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and liaise with suppliers, academic collaborators, and consultants.
  • Document innovations and support the patent application process for key technological developments.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or physics with 8 years of experience working with high-temperature superconducting systems.
  • Proven expertise in testing HTS systems, including cables, magnets, and generators.
  • Hands-on experience in electrical characterization of high-current conductors and cables.
