We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Design Assistant to join our dynamic design team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting designers with various tasks, facilitating seamless communication with clients, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our design projects. The Design Assistant will conduct research on materials and accessories, organize project files for easy access, communicate effectively with vendors and contractors, and provide administrative support to ensure efficient project management and adherence to deadlines. Key Responsibilities
Appointment Management:
- Manage design appointments and maintain the calendar to optimize schedules for designers and clients.
Product Pricing:
- Assist designers in pricing special order products to ensure accurate and timely preparation for client proposals.
Client Communication:
- Maintain regular communication with clients to address inquiries, provide updates, and ensure a positive customer experience.
Design Aid Creation:
- Collaborate with designers in creating design aids such as mood boards and AutoCAD drawings to visualize concepts for clients.
Visual Merchandising Support:
- Assist the Merchandising Department in enhancing the visual appeal of retail floors, ensuring alignment with design intentions.
Research:
- Conduct research on materials, furniture, and accessories to support ongoing design projects and provide valuable insights to the team.
Project Organization:
- Maintain organized project files and documentation to ensure easy access to information for team members.
Effective Communication:
- Communicate effectively with vendors, contractors, and clients as needed to facilitate project progress and resolve issues.
Administrative Support:
- Assist the team with administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings and managing project timelines to ensure all deadlines are met efficiently.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in design, preferably in a retail or interior design setting.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD and other relevant tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines efficiently.
- Previous experience in a design or administrative role is a plus.
