Adcock Systems LLC is a leading Commercial fire alarm, life safety solutions and electrical provider. We provide a broad range of fire alarm, electrical and fire protection products and services including, but not limited to, the design, installation, service and maintenance of fire alarm systems, Fire sprinkler systems, and electrical systems installation and maintenance. Our employees are equipped with comprehensive knowledge and extensive experience in providing and servicing these systems throughout D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
We are currently looking for energetic and vibrant individuals to help expand our rapidly growing electrical division in our Lanham MD office. Adcock's Systems provides great benefits. Salary range pending individuals' skill level and previous experience. This position is for a full-time Estimator/Project Manager in our Electrical Department. The ideal candidate is highly organized with strong communication skills, self-motivated and has the ability to work well with shifting priorities in a fast paced environment.
The following is a list of job requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Estimating electrical projects of various sizes and types.
- Must be knowledgeable of national and local building electrical codes.
- Knowledgeable in AIA formatting for contracts, billing, change orders, and RFl's.
- Co-manage projects with other departments (i.e. sprinkler, fire, building energy controls, etc.)
- Ensure that the deadlines are made.
- Must possess strong customer service skills
- Communication, coordination and cooperation with co-workers.
- Manage all aspects of assigned projects.
- o Process monthly billing
- o Review contracts
- o Create project budgets.
- o Manager projects budgets
- o Schedule creation
- o Negotiate pricing on equipment and material.
- o Procure materials and equipment.
- o Complete and submit RFl's
- o Co-manage the creation and design of engineered Auto-CAD drawings.
- o Expedite permits for projects.
- o Communicate with the local AHJ
- o Assemble submittal packages and permitting applications.
- o Receive and inventory equipment and materials.
- o Aid technicians with purchasing material or processing purchase orders.
- o Create change orders.
- o Coordinate subcontracts
- o Creation/completion of Operation & Maintenance Manuals.
- o Attending job progress meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred and or 5 years Project management, Estimating/Sales or equivalent experience.
- Candidate needs to be proficient with Micro Soft Project, Excel , word, outlook, Blue-Beam and Adobe software.
- Familiar with reading blueprints, understanding current NFPA standards and local codes .
- Valid driver's license
- Problem solver with the ability to identify alternative solutions
- Ability to lift at least 45lbs
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Detail oriented
Clarifications:
- Candidate will be subject to drug screening prior to employment.
- Candidate must undergo and clear a background check.
- 90-day probation period, evaluation after initial 90-day period. Employee will be subject to annual evaluation thereafter at the company's discretion.
