What you will be responsible for:
We are looking for a Junior Building Systems Engineer (MEPF) to join our integrated architecture and engineering product/project team. You will be responsible for the Building Systems design, calculation, specification, permitting and documentation of our homes. This will include a lot of cross-team collaboration as you will interface with our internal Design, Field, Manufacturing, and Procurement Teams as well as our external partners. In addition, you will be responsible for contributing to our goals of continuous improvement. This includes identifying, prioritizing, and implementing improvements to our product designs to support our business model. As we scale, this role has a unique opportunity to refine, lead and/or develop processes and designs to accommodate our business.
What You’ll Do:
- Complete engineering calculations, energy models, solar studies, and performance simulations relevant to all aspects of MEPF design and permitting.
- Respond to project-specific building permit comments.
- Oversee project-specific building utility elements, such as incoming water and electricity.
- Track and manage project redlines and feedback from site teams through our change management process.
- Oversee, review, and participate in high Level of Detail (LOD) detailing, modeling, and MEPF design.
- Perform site inspections as needed.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with Field, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Design teams.
- Develop a deep understanding of all aspects and stakeholders of the product and assembly process to help wherever needed.
- Investigate opportunities and actively provide feedback to reduce costs and improve customer experience.
- Contribute to both continuous improvement and process development to enable our business model at scale such as creating tools to expedite the design of building system elements.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing design and engineering.
- Specific experience in residential design and construction is preferred.
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in construction administration for Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing scope (answering RFIs, reviewing submittals, etc.)
- Experience with BIM or Modeling architecture such as Revit and/or mechanical modeling software such as Solidworks is required.
- Experience with load/energy modeling programs such as TRANE Trace, IES, CBECC Res, or Energy Pro.
- Experience with solar modeling programs is preferred
- Field or installation experience in any trade is a plus.

Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
