We’re seeking a reliable and compassionate Counselor I to join our Outpatient Services team in Knoxville, TN. This role provides critical support to our therapists and plays a key role in coordinating patient discharges, ensuring continuity of care and smooth transitions.
What You’ll Do:
In this outpatient-focused role, you’ll assist clinical staff with patient engagement, documentation, discharge planning, and the overall therapeutic process. You’ll be part of a supportive team working toward patient recovery and wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct support to therapists with patient documentation and session coordination
Assist in patient intake, orientation, and engagement in recovery goals
Facilitate discharge coordination, including planning and communication with patients and families
Monitor patient progress and report to the assigned therapist or manager
Maintain timely and accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards
Promote a positive and therapeutic outpatient environment
What We’re Looking For:
High School Diploma or GED required
Able to get your CPRS in the first 6 months if applicable.
Undergraduate degree in Behavioral Science or Certified Addiction Counselor (C.A.C.) preferred
Minimum 1 year of experience in addiction treatment with direct patient contact
Strong communication and organizational skills
Understanding of recovery principles and outpatient treatment models
If in recovery, at least 2 years of continuous verifiable sobriety
