Position Title: ECS Representative
Department: Business Development
Reports to: Regional Director of Business Development
Supervises: N/A
Entry Level Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED, College helpful. Knowledge of chemical dependency desired. Knowledge of and two (2) years’ experience in business development or account management desired. A knowledge/skill of computer data entry is desired. Must be able to interact with the professional community. Excellent spoken and written communication skills. Must have reliable transportation. Be available for on call schedule that may include a period of waiting to be engaged between 7am to 7pm. Must be self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision.
1. Must be able to develop and present informational seminars on BHS services.
2. Must be able to see at 20/40 corrected in each eye and hear (hearing aid accepted).
3. Must have valid state driver's License and a safe driving record.
4. Must be emotionally and physically capable of functioning under stressful situations.
5. Must be able to develop and maintain accounts and relationship with the referral community.
6. Regular attendance.
7. Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with co-workers, managers, clients and prospective clients.
8. Must be able to work in constant state of alertness as to perform the job in a safe manner.
9. Other duties as assigned.
10. If recovering, two (2) years of continuous sobriety.
General Responsibilities:
Handling of inquiries from prospective patient and area hospitals. Schedule in person (or zoom) consult with prospective client at local area hospital. Appropriately document on inquiry and facilitate admission with Centralized Admission team.
Essential Functions:
1. Respond in person within 30 minutes or drive time of the initial request for an onsite consultation.
2. Present neatly dressed and in a professional manner to the referral sources.
3. Demonstrate the ability to collect screening information for a potential patient.
4. Possess a working knowledge of chemical dependency signs and symptoms in adults and
Adolescents.
5. Possess a working knowledge of appropriate emergency, indigent and/or self-help referral information.
6. Must have legible handwriting.
7. Must demonstrate good judgment for providing clients with appropriate and available resource options.
8. Must be able to motivate potential clients whom may be in denial as to their current situation.
9. Working knowledge of insurance and third-party payers.
10. Consultant shall possess a complete and working knowledge of the crisis response role.
11. Demonstrate the ability to be timely in the execution of the ECS consultant position.
12. Must demonstrate an ability to obtain and clearly document a substance abuse history.
13. Must coordinate screening and/or referrals with the Centralized Admissions Team.
14. Regular attendance.
15. Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance, must possess strong oral communication skills and be responsive to patients' needs and concerns.
16. Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with co-workers, managers, clients and prospective clients.
17. Must be able to work in constant state of alertness as to perform the job in a safe manner.
18. Other duties as assigned.
