Lead Recovery Coach

The Lead Recovery Coach at Woodland Recovery Center will provide guidance, mentorship, and support to individuals in recovery from substance use disorders while leading a team of Behavioral Health Technicians to deliver the highest level of care. This position plays a critical role in helping clients maintain long-term sobriety, develop life skills, and achieve personal goals within a structured, supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to recovery and a deep understanding of the recovery process.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Supervision:

  • Oversee and mentor a team of recovery coaches to ensure high-quality, client-centered services.
  • Perform intake assessments as they arrive.
  • Perform urine drug screening.
  • Assist with AMA blocking and client support.        
  • Maintain bed board for accurate data and census information.
  • Develop and implement training programs for new and existing recovery coaches.
  • Monitor team performance, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Client Support and Advocacy:

  • Accept new clients upon arrival for proper admission intake process.
  • Offer support and guidance to clients on maintaining sobriety and managing life’s challenges.
  • Serve as a role model by demonstrating healthy coping mechanisms and a commitment to recovery.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.

Program Development and Implementation:

  • Collaborate with clinical staff to integrate recovery coaching into the broader treatment plan.
  • Creäte and refine best practices, when necessary.
  • Track and report client progress, maintaining accurate and confidential records.
  • Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and organizational regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field highly preferred.
  • Certification as a Recovery Coach (or willingness to obtain certification within six months).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in substance use recovery, including personal recovery experience or working in a recovery-related field.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of substance use disorders and the recovery process.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Empathy, patience, and a nonjudgmental approach to coaching.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.

Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or on-call as needed.
