Patient Financial Services Representative

PRN Position (as needed), Day - Evening Shift. 

Job Purpose: 

Acts as a role model for the Business Office and the staff ensuring thorough training and providing appropriate guidance.   Reviews medical records after discharge for completeness in compliance with the hospital’s bylaws, Joint Commission standards, federal and state requirements.  Performs administrative duties in the business office in relation to patient’s belongings and cash distributions. Responsible for the daily admission process. Ensure that all patients are reviewed daily to comply with business office/insurance billing requirements. Performs weekly check to ensure job verifications, insurance verifications, and financial agreements made with patients (or their appointed designee) are completed. Ensure proper communication of financial matters with clients, family members, corporate offices and insurance representatives. Participates in performance and CQI activities.

• Has knowledge of the hospital’s bylaws, Joint Commission, federal and state requirements.

• Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of an organization. 
• Able to calculate numbers and figures.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the facility's history, mission, services, and organizational structure

Qualifications:  

At least two years of previous similar hospital and/or insurance experience.    Must be exceptionally detail oriented to ensure all medical records are audited and updated accordingly with minimal errors.  A proven record of great customer service and ability to assist multiple people professionally, effectively, and efficiently.
