Therapist (SUD Treatment)

Red Oak Recovery (Leicester, NC) provides an enriching and experiential program that helps young people improve their lives. Using a holistic approach, our team supports clients on their path to self-love, self-acceptance, and self-awareness. Red Oak Recovery is located in the pristine Blue Ridge Mountains, just outside of Asheville N.C. We specialize in the treatment of young adult males, ages 18-30, and are a clinically dynamic, trauma intensive substance abuse and mental health treatment program. The leadership team of Red Oak Recovery is made up of recognized experts in the field of mental health who specialize in the integration of wilderness and experiential therapy, substance abuse, trauma, and mental health treatment.

We are seeking a Milieu Therapist for our campus who can provide gender-specific, clinically-focused, and trauma-informed care in an environment conducive to healing. Milieu Therapists run groups for clients as well as provide one on one sessions while being part of the treatment team and assist in the development and execution of the treatment plan for clients. Being part of our clinically dynamic team has provided many of our therapists additional resources and advanced training in various modalities. Our therapists are instrumental in the treatment, rehabilitation, reinvention and reintegration of our clients.

Responsibilities:

• Provide group therapy for individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders including but not limited to assessment, group therapy, client education, all of which will be reflected by accurate record keeping
• Support Primary Therapists in coverage for groups, individual sessions, intake, assessments, and case management if needed
• Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients
• Provide ongoing therapeutic interventions to assist clients in overcoming challenges
• Produce documentation including progress notes and other records in a timely manner
• Work in collaboration with other professionals as part of a treatment team by attending meetings and keeping up with internal communication
• Work in collaboration with other professionals as part of a treatment team
• Participate in weekly rotation of on-call including crisis management and clinical application review
• Follow and meet established clinical and programmatic standards
• Participate in clinical training to Recovery Guides, family workshops, clinical projects and other clinical trainings if needed
• Conduct self in professional and ethical manner
• Complete all requirements to maintain licensure

Education/Experience:

• Master’s degree in Human Service field
• LCMHC, LCSW, LCAS, LMFT or pursuing licensure
• Experience in facilitating group therapy
• Experience with experiential therapy
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Dually licensed in both Addiction and Mental Health Treatment (or willing to seek both)
• Experience working with adolescents in an Eco-Therapeutic setting
• Willing to complete requirements for licensure within 75 days of start date
