Position Summary:
The Therapist provides high-level clinical services, including individual, group, and family therapy, to patients with substance use disorders. This role is critical in formulating complex treatment plans and ensuring high-quality care in accordance with state licensure and regulatory standards. The role includes integrating 12-Step Programs and conducting specialty groups related to addiction treatment.
Entry Level Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Social or Behavioral Science required.
- Professional licensure (ALC, LPC, LMSW, LMFT, LICSW) or LAADC 2 required.
- Two years of experience in addiction treatment preferred.
- 2 years of verifiable sobriety if in recovery.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct comprehensive Psychosocial Assessments, evaluating patient needs and diagnoses.
- Evaluate and integrate assessment findings from multiple disciplines and databases into a clinical summary.
- Develop detailed treatment plans, transforming identified issues into specific goals, objectives, and corresponding interventions.
- Document the patient’s clinical course of treatment clearly and legibly in progress notes.
- Manage and coordinate the patient’s work on treatment objectives, keeping the patient, clinical team, payers, and referral sources informed of progress.
- Formulate and document discharge summaries, summarizing significant findings, treatment progress, and the final patient assessment at discharge.
- Integrate 12-Step Programs and Principles into the therapeutic process and treatment plans while maintaining a professional treatment focus.
- Manage caseloads, documentation requirements, and treatment delivery in a professional and timely manner.
- Conduct individual counseling sessions for patients with substance use disorders.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions, addressing addiction and co-occurring disorders.
- Lead specialty groups relevant to addiction treatment, such as trauma-informed care, relapse prevention, or other areas.
- Perform conjoint family counseling, integrating knowledge of codependency and the impact of addiction on families.
- Conduct basic education lectures and presentations, focusing on addiction treatment and recovery.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance, ensuring clear, coherent communication, and responsiveness to patient needs.
- Supervise junior staff, if assigned, and document supervision according to policy and procedure.
- Work cooperatively with co-workers, managers, clients, and prospective clients in a collaborative and professional manner.
- Maintain a constant state of alertness to perform the job in a safe manner.
- Regular attendance is required, along with active participation in meetings and trainings.
- Perform other professional duties as requested by the Clinical Manager.
