Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate patients and determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide one-on-one counseling to help patients identify challenges, establish goals, and develop effective coping strategies.
- Lead group counseling sessions and psychoeducational workshops to promote peer support and knowledge-sharing.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment plans in compliance with federal confidentiality standards.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
- Offer guidance on discharge planning, aftercare, and referrals to support long-term recovery.
- Communicate with authorized parties regarding patient care while adhering to strict confidentiality guidelines.
- Stay current with best practices in substance abuse counseling through continuous training and education.
Qualifications & Experience
- Certified Substance Abuse Counselor with a GED or High School Diploma.
- Registered with NCASPPB.
- Minimum of 120 hours of supervision under a Clinical Certified Supervisor (CCS).
- Strong understanding of counseling theories, therapeutic techniques, and the recovery process.
- Familiarity with 12-step programs and their philosophy, including MAT.
- Proficiency in clinical documentation, treatment planning, and case management.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong active listening abilities.
