What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook Full Time position at Addiction Recovery?
JOB SUMMARY: The cook is responsible for providing safe and sanitary operations of the Food Service Department regarding the storage, preparation, and distribution of food, as well as the care and cleaning of equipment and washing dishes. The cook provides meals to patients and staff as required by the Kitchen Supervisor to insure appropriate dietary needs and compliance standards are met.
COOK JOB DUTIES:
- Responsible for the maintenance of the sanitary condition of the kitchen, food storage areas, equipment, and food following COMAR regulations on all scheduled shifts
- Responsible for the preparation and serving or wholesome, palatable, and attractive meals, on all scheduled shifts
- Responsible for preparing food according to methods that preserve the nutritive value of the food and insure the safety of the food by utilizing HACCP procedures on all scheduled shifts
- Responsible for procurement and storage of food as needed
- Responsible for maintaining food inventory, including food for therapeutic diets for patients, adequate to serve menus as written
- Responsible for supervising clients assigned to kitchen duty and reporting any problems to the supervisor.
- Responsible for special cleaning duties as assigned
- Reports any and all problems, changes, or concerns regarding the department to the Kitchen Supervisor
- Responsible for following all kitchen protocols as developed for the Kitchen Supervisor, variances in procedure must be approved in advance
- Other duties as determined by the Kitchen Supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Covid-19 Vaccines required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and carry, push and/or lift items no more than 41 pounds by themselves.
