What are the responsibilities and job description for the Board of Directors position at Addiction Treatment Services?
The ATS Board of Directors is an all-volunteer board providing oversight of the ATS Chief Executive Officer as well as organizational budgeting, financial management and capital goals. As a team we strive to provide expertise, community perspective, time, and organizational credibility.
We also have specialized functions focused on specific areas or projects of interest – either as individuals or as members of board committees. Current areas of emphases that ATS is looking for is in either Real Estate or Legal professionals.
Some of the responsibilities of ATS Board of Directors are as follows:
- An initial 3-year term of office with an option of renewal
- Participation in a Board of Directors orientation and onboarding process
- Review all BOD meeting materials in advance of monthly board meetings
- Serve on at least one ATS Board Committee (Finance, Fund Development, Executive, Board Relations, etc.)
- Attend regular meetings held on the fourth Thursday of each month, 5:30-7:00pm
- Recruit, nominate, and appoint new and diverse members to the Board of Directors
- Additional duties are defined in the ATS Board of Directors Bylaws
- Estimated Time Requirements:
- Active Board Participation: 2-4 hours per month. This includes reviewing the monthly board packet, attending regular board meetings, and committee meetings.
- Board Executive Committee: This includes the board President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. An additional 2-hours monthly to complete duties outlined in Bylaws.
