Position Details

Addictions Recovery Center, Inc (ARC) in Medford, Oregon is a behavioral health agency providing a trauma-informed, comprehensive continuum of substance use and co-occurring mental health disorder treatment services in Southern Oregon. We are seeking a full-time Admissions Specialist to be a key point of contact for individuals looking for a life in recovery.

This position will initially train Tuesday through Friday, 8 : 00 am – 5 : 00 pm. Once our new Withdrawal Management building opens, the schedule will shift to Friday through Monday. A $1.00 shift differential is provided for Saturday and Sunday shifts.

The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously with minimal oversight, multitask efficiently in a high-stress environment, and de-escalate situations when needed. Strong customer service skills , computer proficiency , and multi-line phone system experience are required. Experience in a medical office setting is highly preferred, as this role supports our Addiction Medicine Clinic (AMC) and Withdrawal Management teams.

Duties will include but not be limited to :

Serve as the critical first point of contact for clients seeking treatment.

Respond promptly to calls and emails within a 24-hour timeframe.

Conduct diligent follow-up with potential clients and referral sources.

Review insurance information, including prior authorizations and medication coverage.

Guide potential clients through the admission process with professionalism and empathy.

Coordinate referrals with clinical staff, community partners, and external agencies.

Review and communicate financial responsibilities to clients during intake.

Provide information to clients and families about treatment programs and resources.

Accurately complete all required admission paperwork.

Proactively identify and address barriers to admission.

Assist clients in accessing peer support resources to enhance their recovery journey.

Requirements :

Education, Credentials and Skills should include :

One year of experience in patient intake, medical office administration, or insurance authorization in a healthcare, behavioral health, or substance use disorder setting preferred.

Strong customer service experience with excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability to work efficiently under pressure while managing multiple tasks.

Proficiency with computers and electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Experience with multi-line phone systems and high-call-volume environments.

Ability to de-escalate tense situations and assist individuals in crisis.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Compensation and benefits include :

Most ARC employees are scheduled four-days a week to support their ability to maintain a healthy work and life balance; medical and sobering positions are scheduled to work three days a week

Starting wage for a Admissions Specialist ranging from $26.00 - $29.90 hourly, depending on credentials, skills, and experience

Three (3) to six (6) weeks of Vacation accrued per year, based upon years of service

Sick time is accrued for all employees based on regularly scheduled hours

Ten (10) Paid Holidays each year : New Year’s, MLK Day, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day.
