What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAD Designer - New Product Development position at Addictive Desert Designs?
HPAG has a position open for a CAD Designer - New Product Development. This position will focus on all aspects of the New Product Development and R&D process to help create, refine, and improve products catering to the Off-Road community. The daily tasks require a creative mindset with the ability to convey a creative design into solid works assemblies to be manufactured from sheet metal and tubular parts. Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Daily creation of CAD models in SolidWorks of parts from templates or physical parts.
- Create 3D models in SolidWorks and complex sheet metal assemblies.
- Process 3D scans and create 3D scanned mesh models of vehicle data to be used in the new product development process
- Work with the prototype engineering team to support new products into automation and to be manufactured.
- Take open instructions on any revisions of parts or assemblies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and be a team player to accomplish the company goals and adjust to rapidly changing priorities.
- Self-motivated, assertive, and responds to production metrics.
- Manages complex assemblies in solid works and creation of sheet metal and tubular parts.
- Experience and understanding of tooling and fixtures to build product in the 3D model and bring them to physical reality.
- Experience and knowledge of machine work and processes for final parts.
- Experience working with an engineering team and creating drawings with measurements.
- Contributes to building a positive team spirit and puts success of team above own interests
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
