Basic Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a College/University and have at least finished two years of a Bachelor’s Degree majoring in chemistry, geochemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or a related field
- Prior college chemistry lab experience
- Strong grasp of chemistry, chemical engineering, and materials science fundamentals
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Eligible to work in the U.S. without immediate sponsorship
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen, distill information, consult, and propose new approaches
- A balanced perspective and a good sense of humor
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior Co-Op and/or internship experience
- Knowledge of natural or stimulated geological hydrogen processes
- Knowledge of statistical methods and experimental design
- Experience in material design and fabrication using CAD software is a plus
Job Responsibilities
- Full-time in person role at Somerville lab facility (near East Somerville stop on the green line)
- Conducting lab experiments, operating high pressure high temperature reaction systems, analyzing data, and presenting results
- Handle and process geological samples, including crushing, cutting, and shaping rock using specialized equipment
- Take initiative in a new laboratory environment by actively contributing to the development and refinement of procedures
- Operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting material characterization equipment
- Conducting literature searches to support new experimental designs
- Supporting all relevant EH&S procedures and safety protocols
- Contributing to a supportive, innovative, and dynamic company culture
