The Addison High School Principal provides direct and effective leadership and supervision for the High School student body, staff, program, and campus. The High School Principal collaborates with staff, families and caregivers to ensure the social-emotional growth and academic success of all students, as well as with other program leaders, department leaders and district office personnel to facilitate the achievement of the district's mission, vision, and goals.
The successful candidate will join a district that is fiscally sound, with a collaborative and supportive environment, outstanding students, a dedicated staff, as well as a supportive Board of Education and community. Located in New York State's Southern Tier, ACSD serves more than 1,000 students in grades PreK-12.
The Addison Central School District offers a competitive starting salary of $97,500, negotiable based on experience. In addition, the district provides comprehensive benefits, professional learning, and leadership coaching/support.
Job Qualifications
The Addison Central School District is seeking candidates to serve as the Addison High School Principal who possess the knowledge, skills, attributes, and dispositions that will lead Addison High School students and staff in reaching their fullest potential. Candidates must hold NY State certification as a School Building Leader (SBL) or equivalent and have a minimum of five years of successful educational experience.
The successful candidate must:
- Be knowledgeable in the areas of high school program and graduation requirements, instructional best practices, RtI/MTSS, SEL, PBIS, Restorative Practices, applicable laws and regulations pertaining to special education and employee relations, employee evaluations, and school budgets;
- Be skilled in the areas of listening, communicating, relationship building, motivating and inspiring staff and students, using data to drive decisions, providing effective feedback, scheduling, facilitation, and implementation;
- Be caring, honest, trustworthy, dedicated, and inclusive;
- Be approachable, personable, respectful, confident, humble, hardworking, collaborative, detail-oriented, systematic, flexible, adaptable, reflective, growth-minded, student-centered, fiscally conscious, visionary, and be able to effectively balance the prioritization of the high school program with the district as a whole
