- Highly qualified to teach Social Studies in 6-12th grade including appropriate teaching credentials as defined by the State of Michigan.
- Knowledge of and commitment to best practices as supported by current research to teach the district’s general education adopted curriculum.
- Willingness to attend professional development workshops to strengthen skills.
- Establish and enforce classroom management procedures consistent with district, PBIS and MTSS initiatives.
- Willingness to contribute to a safe school climate of high expectations and strong collaboration, high staff and student morale, and positive community involvement.
- Possess an understanding of positive student intervention and accommodations to differentiate instruction based on varying levels of students’ abilities.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records and other documents as required.
- Ability to develop and sustain positive working relationships with students, staff, parents and district colleagues.
