What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Manager- Manufacturing position at Addison Group?
This position is responsible for overseeing and managing all financial activities within the manufacturing plant. This includes budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory management, and financial analysis to support decision-making and operational efficiency. This person will collaborate with plant leadership, production, and other departments to ensure that financial and operational objectives are met.
Key Responsibilities :
- Financial Reporting and Analysis :
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Provide detailed reports on plant performance, including variances between budgeted and actual costs.
- Monitor and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for production costs, efficiency, and profitability.
- Perform financial forecasting to support long-term planning and decision-making.
- Inventory Management :
- Oversee the accurate tracking of raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods inventory.
- Ensure compliance with inventory control procedures to prevent discrepancies or overstocking.
- Conduct periodic inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Cost Accounting :
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems to track production costs, labor, materials, overhead, and fixed assets. Complete understanding of Bills of Materials, Assemblies and Sub-Assemblies.
- Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.
- Review and track standard costs, work in progress (WIP), and finished goods inventories.
- Budgeting and Forecasting :
- Lead the annual budgeting process, including preparing budgets for various departments within the plant.
- Collaborate with department heads to ensure alignment with financial goals and operational needs.
- Conduct periodic reforecasting to ensure financial targets are met and adjust for any changes in production or market conditions.
- Internal Controls and Compliance :
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and corporate policies.
- Conduct audits of financial records and systems to ensure accuracy and transparency.
Qualifications :
At least 5 years of experience in financial management or accounting within a manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
