Job Description
The AR Clean-Up Specialist will be responsible for resolving aged accounts receivable, following up on infusion-related claims, and handling insurance denials and appeals. The ideal candidate will have experience with government payers (Medicare, Medicaid), infusion collections, and strong problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on aged claims (120 days outstanding) to ensure maximum reimbursement
- Handle infusion-related claims for specialties such as rheumatology, oncology, and infectious disease
- Manage claim appeals and reconsiderations to recover outstanding balances
- Collaborate with insurance companies to resolve claim disputes
- Apply appropriate modifiers and medical necessity guidelines
- Utilize multiple billing systems, including Genesis Doc (EMR), Availity, Gateway EDI, and Novitas
- 2 years of experience in medical billing and collections
- Government payer experience required (Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance)
- Infusion therapy collections experience preferred (rheumatology, oncology, or infectious disease)
- Strong knowledge of claims denials, appeals, and reconsiderations
- Persistent and assertive approach to working with insurance companies
- Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- Work Location: Onsite in Conroe, TX (Potential for remote work after training for top candidates)
- Start Date: ASAP
