Qualifications & Experience
- A bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
- 10-15 years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud transformation, and operations, including at least 5 years supporting large government contracts.
- Extensive experience leading Azure cloud transformation projects, covering migration, architecture, and optimization at scale.
- Proven ability to manage $10M in annual revenue for cloud infrastructure and operations initiatives.
- Strong familiarity with industry standards and frameworks, such as ITIL, DevOps, and the Azure Well-Architected Framework.
- A track record of working closely with C-level executives to ensure the success of infrastructure, operations, and cloud transformation programs.
- Expertise in Azure cloud migration strategies, cloud-native application development, and optimization.
- Deep understanding of IT infrastructure management, including cloud services (Azure), network administration, cybersecurity, and data center operations.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience in budget management, cost control, and resource allocation for cloud transformation projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of cloud security, compliance, and regulatory requirements for Azure environments.
- Experience leading teams to deploy, monitor, and manage IT infrastructure and cloud services within Azure.
- Microsoft Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps, or Azure Administrator are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead all infrastructure, operations, and cloud transformation efforts, focusing on Azure cloud migration and optimization.
- Define and implement cloud transformation strategies, ensuring a smooth transition of workloads to Microsoft Azure.
- Establish and enforce technical standards, policies, and procedures for managing cloud services and infrastructure.
- Oversee Azure migration tasks, ensuring efficient execution, quality, and on-time delivery of cloud-related initiatives.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the organization and government officials, including the Contracting Officer (CO) and Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).
- Drive the adoption of Azure cloud technologies, including compute, storage, networking, and security services, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Coordinate efforts across internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors to streamline infrastructure and cloud transformation projects.
- Oversee all aspects of contract execution, project/task order management, and resource coordination.
- Report to senior leadership on program performance, cloud transformation progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure that all deliverables related to infrastructure and cloud transformation meet required technical, quality, and compliance standards.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement across infrastructure, operations, and cloud teams.
- Work closely with C-level stakeholders to identify and address business needs related to cloud, IT infrastructure, and operations.
- Optimize cloud transformation budgets, forecasts, and resource allocations, ensuring cost-effective Azure implementations.
- Guide teams in adopting cloud-native architectures, including Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions, and containerized applications.
- Oversee the integration and management of Azure-based infrastructure, network security, and data center solutions.
- Advocate for best practices in cloud security, governance, compliance, and disaster recovery.
- Lead the adoption of DevOps and CI/CD methodologies to enhance efficiency and streamline operations within the Azure cloud environment.
- Ensure the successful implementation of ITIL, DevOps, and the Azure Well-Architected Framework to improve infrastructure and cloud service delivery.
