Addison Group is partnering with a leading company in the real estate sector to hire a Corporate Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced team where you can expand your skills in financial reporting, SEC compliance, and debt management.
Job Description:
The Corporate Accountant will play a key role in managing the company's financial reporting processes, including SEC filings, debt reconciliation, and general accounting functions. The role offers a chance to work closely with internal teams while gaining exposure to high-level financial operations within a publicly traded company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Debt Reconciliation & Analysis: Reconcile debt transactions including loans, mortgages, and credit lines, and analyze interest expenses, prepayments, and accruals.
- Support SEC Reporting: Assist in preparing financial statements and footnotes, ensuring accuracy in XBRL tagging for SEC filings.
- Quarterly Distributions: Perform calculations for quarterly distributions related to joint venture shopping centers.
- Debt Covenant Compliance: Track and maintain compliance with debt covenants through accurate calculations and reporting.
- Internal Financial Reporting: Conduct financial analysis and reconciliations for various internal accounts and reports.
- General Accounting Functions: Oversee G&A expense accruals, reclassification of department codes, and ensure expenses are recorded in the correct periods.
- Equity Transactions: Manage stock issuance, dividend payments, and restricted stock vesting activities.
Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of experience in public accounting or with a publicly traded company.
- Solid proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial software.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited university.
Additional Details:
- Work Schedule: In-office position located in North Bethesda, MD. Initial 4 days in-office for training, then 3 days in-office (Tuesday is mandatory).
