Cost Accountant

Position Summary

One of our manufacturing / distribution clients is currently seeking a Cost Accountant. This role is responsible for performing detailed cost analyses, helping to ensure accurate financial planning, budgeting, and reporting. Also supports data-driven decision-making by analyzing variances, preparing cost reports, and identifying opportunities for process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Collects, tracks, and maintains cost data across various departments and processes.
• Assists in developing and improving cost accounting systems and procedures.
• Analyzes both fixed and variable costs, identifying trends and discrepancies.
• Supports month-end and year-end closing processes related to cost functions.
• Analyzes profit margins and provides actionable insights to management.
• Recommends cost-saving initiatives and improvements in financial operations.
• Collaborates with other departments on pricing, budgeting, and cost estimations.
• Assists with special projects and other finance-related tasks as needed.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4 years of progressive experience in cost accounting or a related role.
• NetSuite experience is required
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Solid understanding of accounting procedures and GAAP.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
• Comfortable working in a collaborative, on-site environment.
  
  

Salary And Benefits

• Compensation range for this opportunity is $85K - $95K
