Job Description
We are seeking a Data Entry & Gift Processing Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Washington, DC. This position offers an opportunity to support gift processing, maintain donor records, and ensure the accuracy of all donations. As a Data Entry & Gift Processing Coordinator, you will play an essential role in supporting the database management team, collaborating with internal teams, and ensuring seamless data entry and transaction processing. This hybrid position requires a partial in-person presence in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of all donation data (checks, cash, credit cards, wire transfers, EFT, and stock contributions) within 24 hours into the fundraising database.
- Manage and process data from company matching gift programs and workplace giving initiatives.
- Maintain and update donor records, including merging duplicates, updating contact details, and performing data cleanups in Salesforce.
- Import external data from various sources (e.g., third-party giving portals) for integration into the donor database.
- Research and verify gift transactions and donor profiles.
- Serve as a resource for the Development Department on gift processing, receipts, and related documentation.
- Collaborate with the Development Department to ensure proper processing for fundraising events.
- Communicate with donors regarding failed transactions, inquiries, and technical issues.
- Implement and optimize gift entry procedures for better efficiency.
- Conduct regular data audits to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Support database integrity initiatives through data cleanup and maintenance.
- Assist in the development of policies for database management and revenue allocation.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience: 1-3 years working with donor databases or CRM systems in a nonprofit environment. Experience with Salesforce is preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Basic understanding of accounting and finance.
