Job Description

We are seeking a Digital IC Designer to join an innovative Mixed Signal Products team. As a key contributor to the digital IC design process, you will collaborate with world-class analog designers to develop high-performance mixed-signal ICs for various applications, including consumer and automotive markets. Your focus will be on embedding power-efficient custom digital cores within these designs.

This role requires experience in digital IC design, including custom digital core development and optimization for low power. Familiarity with ARM, DSP cores, and RISC-V architectures is a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Digital IC Design: Support the design and development of custom digital cores that are power-efficient and tailored for mixed-signal chips in audio, haptics, and power management applications.
  • Low-Power Design: Focus on designing for low-power consumption, particularly for battery-powered consumer and automotive applications.
  • Architecture Development: Collaborate with architects and system designers to create innovative digital architectures that integrate seamlessly with analog blocks, enhancing mixed-signal performance.
  • Digital Design Flow: Support the digital design process, including RTL design, verification, synthesis, place and route, timing closure, and power optimization.
  • Collaboration with Analog Teams: Work closely with analog designers to ensure seamless integration of analog and digital components, delivering industry-leading mixed-signal ICs.
  • Power Optimization: Apply power optimization techniques, such as clock gating, power gating, and dynamic voltage scaling, to meet stringent power requirements.
  • Verification & Validation: Develop verification environments and contribute to validation plans for robust digital designs that meet performance and power specifications.
  • Technology Adoption: Stay informed about the latest advancements in low-power design, digital architecture, and IC development methodologies, including ARM, DSP, and RISC-V architectures.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in digital IC design, with experience supporting the design and optimization of power-efficient custom digital cores.
  • Expertise in RTL design, synthesis, and verification for mixed-signal ICs.
  • Knowledge of low-power design techniques for embedded systems, including clock gating, power gating, and voltage scaling.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard digital design and verification tools (e.g., Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog, UVM, Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor).
  • Understanding of ARM, DSP, or RISC-V architectures and their applications in low-power, high-performance systems.
  • Experience collaborating with analog/mixed-signal teams to deliver integrated mixed-signal solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with the digital implementation process, from design to tape-out, including synthesis, place & route, and timing closure.
  • Back-End Verification: Demonstrated ability to support verification of complete digital designs, including SystemVerilog models, FPGA synthesis of RTL code, test bench definition, bug tracking, and resolution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with DSP and RISC-V architectures and customization of DSP cores for specialized applications.
  • Experience with ARM-based embedded systems, particularly in low-power environments.
  • Automotive IC experience, including knowledge of safety, reliability, and quality standards (e.g., ISO 26262).
  • Background in designing ICs for consumer electronics, with an understanding of challenges related to power, form factor, and performance.

Why Join Us

This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in a collaborative environment. You will contribute to designing high-performance mixed-signal chips that power innovative applications in consumer and automotive markets.
