Title : Electrical Drafter

Location : Houston, Texas

Salary : $65,000 - $90,000

Position Summary :

This position is primarily responsible for drafting, detailing, and documenting electrical systems for power generation, distribution, substations, and renewable energy equipment. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with AutoCAD in the electrical industry, specifically in the design and documentation of three-phase power systems, substations, and related infrastructure. The role may include some site-specific tasks such as drafting as-built documentation, field verification, and system troubleshooting. Company provides turnkey mobile power generation and distribution solutions, and this role will support the efficient execution of electrical projects by ensuring precise and accurate electrical schematics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Drafting and reviewing electrical drawings for medium / low / high voltage power generation, distribution, substations, and microgrid systems.
• Create detailed AutoCAD drawings, including one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and electrical layouts for substations and power plants.
• Assist in the preparation of electrical documentation such as power system studies, arc flash, short circuit, coordination, load flow, and fault analysis using specialized electrical software (ETAP, SKM, etc.).
• Develop and update electrical system design documents, including cable schedules, panel schedules, electrical equipment layouts, and grounding plans.
• Review and update electrical schematics and drawings based on project requirements and site conditions.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and codes, including IEEE, NEC, and NFPA, when creating electrical system designs and documentation.
• Provide technical support for engineering teams during the design and construction phases, including responding to field inquiries and providing clarification on drawings.
• Coordinate with engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet project specifications and standards.
