Job Description:
We are seeking a Mentor to support a youth development program on-site in Waukegan, IL. This is a 3-month contract role, ideal for an individual passionate about empowering young people and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead programming for youth aged 11–17, focusing on engagement, goal-setting, and support.
- Conduct needs assessments and develop action plans in collaboration with families.
- Provide guidance and resources to help youth navigate challenges and meet goals.
- Reconnect with youth who have inconsistent attendance and strengthen family engagement.
- Maintain accurate records and update case notes in a timely manner using internal data systems.
- Assist with program evaluations and contribute to reporting for stakeholders.
- Facilitate data-driven discussions to support continuous program improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, public health, or a related field.
- At least two years of experience working with at-risk youth.
- Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive conversations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
Additional Details:
- This role requires a fingerprint background check and CPS clearance.
- Hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with some flexibility based on family meetings.
- Business casual dress is required to relate comfortably with families and children.
