The Payment Posting Specialist will play a crucial role in a team responsible for managing a high volume of transactions, posting payments, and ensuring accuracy in financial records. Working closely with a team of 9, this role requires handling both electronic and manual transactions, balancing facility accounts, and effectively managing large payment volumes.
Key Responsibilities
- Payment Posting & Reconciliation:
- Post daily transactions as a team, with a goal of $5–$10 million processed daily.
- Verify and reconcile information with EOBs or remittance documents.
- Take ownership of accounts, managing hundreds of transactions daily, including ERA, lockbox checks, and credit card payments.
- Communication & EOB Requests:
- Contact facilities or payors to request EOBs when necessary.
- Ensure effective communication and timely follow-ups for missing documentation.
- Data Tracking & Reporting:
- Track deposits and money posted using Excel spreadsheets.
- Utilize Excel for filtering and data navigation; familiarity with pivot tables is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of payment posting experience, ideally in a hospital setting.
- Demonstrated experience with high-volume transactions and strong EOB interpretation skills.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Excel, including the ability to use filters and navigate large datasets; familiarity with pivot tables preferred.
