Title: Payroll Supervisor
Location: Newark, DE (Onsite)
Pay: $85,000 - $90,000
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Supervisor to join our team in Newark, DE. This role will be responsible for overseeing and managing a mid-sized team of payroll professionals. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of payroll taxes and regulations, strong leadership skills, and the ability to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for the company’s employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Supervision: Manage and lead a team of payroll professionals, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure efficient operations and achievement of payroll deadlines.
- Payroll Processing: Oversee the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll for multiple entities.
- Payroll Tax Compliance: Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll taxes and regulations. Ensure the company is in compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, including withholding, reporting, and filing.
- Reporting and Reconciliation: Generate and review payroll reports to ensure accuracy. Reconcile payroll data, including deductions, benefits, bonuses, and other payroll-related items.
- Audit and Issue Resolution: Address and resolve payroll discrepancies, including investigating and correcting issues related to pay, benefits, and tax withholdings.
- System Management: Ensure proper functionality and maintenance of the payroll software/system, ADP WFN, working with IT and vendors as needed to resolve technical issues or updates.
- Process Improvement: Continuously review payroll processes to identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices to increase efficiency and accuracy. Create SOPs to streamline training and execution of payroll processes.
- Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for employee payroll inquiries and provide excellent customer service to resolve any payroll-related concerns.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, including 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Payroll Knowledge: Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, regulations (FLSA, IRS, local/state tax requirements), and compliance issues.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage and develop a team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with payroll software systems (e.g., ADP, Ceridian, Workday)
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred, not required).
