Key Responsibilities
- Pre-Processing Inspections:
- Inspect customer components before processing to ensure they meet the incoming specifications and are ready for processing.
- Use profilometers, comparators, micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools to ensure parts conform to customer-specified tolerances.
- Confirm that all incoming components meet quality standards and customer requirements before they are sent for processing.
- Post-Processing Inspections:
- Conduct post-processing inspections to ensure components meet the required outcome specifications after treatments.
- Verify that the parts meet the desired surface finish, dimensional accuracy, and any other specific customer expectations.
- Record and report inspection results, noting any deviations from required outcomes.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Accurately document all inspection findings for both pre- and post-processing stages, ensuring that all records are clear and precise.
- Generate Certificates of Conformity (COC) for customer components, confirming they meet all agreed specifications.
- Record deviations, non-conformities, and quality issues, reporting them in a timely manner.
- Maintain comprehensive inspection records and databases in accordance with company quality standards.
- Compliance and Quality Standards:
- Ensure inspections are conducted in compliance with relevant quality standards, including ISO, QS, AS, MIL, ANSI, and specific customer specifications.
- Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles when necessary to verify that parts conform to design requirements.
- Work closely with production teams to communicate quality issues and suggest corrective actions to ensure compliance with customer expectations.
- Equipment Maintenance and Calibration:
- Ensure all measuring equipment is regularly calibrated and maintained for accurate inspection results.
- Troubleshoot and report any malfunctions or issues with measuring tools or inspection equipment.
- Proficient in using mechanical measurement equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, profilometers, gauges, and FARO arms.
- Knowledge of Abrasive Flow Machining processing techniques.
- Knowledge of Quality Standards (ISO, QS, AS, MIL, ANSI) and the ability to apply them during inspections.
- Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for interpreting and verifying component specifications.
- Strong ability to identify deviations and ensure compliance with both pre- and post-processing specifications.
- Ability to accurately document and maintain inspection findings in compliance with quality management systems.
- Experience in quality control, particularly in manufacturing environments using precision measurement tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with Abrasive Flow Machining processes, or similar surface finishing and processing techniques.
- Experience in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and customer specifications.
