Windows System Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Windows Systems Engineer to deploy, manage, and optimize solutions that align with strategic business and technical requirements. In this role, you will be the technical point of contact for VMware and VDI projects, collaborating closely with both business and technology teams to deliver innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing hybrid cloud deployments, creating technical documentation, and leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the deployment and management of VMware and VDI solutions in alignment with business and technical objectives, serving as the technical point of contact for these projects.
• Facilitate communication between business and technology teams, ensuring clear and actionable instructions are provided.
• Act as a Tier 3 resource, performing in-depth technical analysis and conducting root cause analysis (RCA) to resolve complex issues.
• Manage hybrid cloud deployments, focusing on the MSE environment and ensuring high availability and performance.
• Implement standardized processes to prevent recurring product issues, working with cross-functional teams to prioritize and resolve them.
• Develop and maintain a knowledge base to ensure issues are resolved promptly and efficiently, fostering continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with the team to architect next-generation data center network solutions with an emphasis on innovation, scalability, security, and performance.
• Design, lead, and supervise the implementation of Windows/VMware solutions across multiple data centers in various US regions.
• Prepare and present executive-level reports on proposed solutions, their benefits, and the overall impact on the business.
• Create high-level and low-level design documentation to support smooth hand-offs to delivery and operational teams.
• Work with third-party security products that integrate with VMware/Windows environments.
• Provide operational deployment guidance, ensuring best practices are followed for smooth execution.
• Proactively identify and manage risks within assigned platforms, implementing effective mitigation strategies.
• Assist with the automation of monitoring, alerting, availability, recovery, and testing services to ensure system reliability.
• Operate in an Agile environment, collaborating with teams to deliver timely and effective solutions.
• Serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to leadership and operational teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10 years of experience in planning, designing, implementing, and supporting multi-vendor, multi-platform enterprise networks.
• Exceptional presentation and public speaking skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Strong self-motivation and ability to prioritize business requirements effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with staff at all levels.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Technical Skills:

• Extensive experience with VMware vSphere and Horizon, including configuration, deployment, and management.
• Proficiency in configuring and supporting Office 365 environments, including Intune and MS Defender.
• Experience with VMware vRealize suite for cloud management and automation.
• Strong background in AWS or other public cloud platforms.
• In-depth experience with SAN storage systems (block and NFS) and VMware infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Palo Alto Networks, VMware NSX, and Arista MSS is a plus.
• Experience with Windows infrastructure, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, domain trust relationships, group policies, and DFS.
• Strong understanding of security architecture and technologies, including multi-factor authentication and single sign-on solutions.
• Experience with Single-Site, Multi-Site, and Federation deployments.
• Knowledge of networking concepts and familiarity with Cisco and Arista network gear.
• Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama software.
• VMware certifications such as VCDX, VCAP, or VCP are preferred.
• Experience with Linux environments is a plus.
